Jory Des Jardins Co-Founded BlogHer, Inc. and will be the Morning Key Note Speaker.  In 2005, Jory launched BlogHer with Elisa Camahort Page and Lisa Stone, and serves as the company’s President of Strategic Alliances and lead evangelist to top revenue partners. With Jory’s leadership, BlogHer has developed its own distinctive, brand of strategic partnership, helping to facilitate constructive dialogue between some of the world’s major brands and women who are social media leaders and their readers.

Jory frequently gives private presentations and training sessions to Fortune 500 companies and their internal and external strategy teams, bringing community insights and case studies directly to companies and agencies that are navigating the social media space. Leveraging her prior experience in both print and online media, Jory works within brand teams to deconstruct media models and to develop messaging and campaigns that resonate with bloggers, blog readers and brands.

Christina Stoneburner is a member of Fox Rothschild's Law Firm Labor & Employment Department. She counsels clients on complying with applicable federal and state laws and developing strategies to avoid liability. Christina also provides training to clients on a variety of topics, including sexual and other types of harassment, FMLA leave, compliance with the ADA and state anti-discrimination laws, disciplining/evaluating employees, diversity and workplace violence.

In addition to the preventative counseling and training she provides, Christina represents employers throughout the United States in federal and state courts and administrative tribunals in cases alleging violations of the FMLA, sexual harassment, race, national origin, gender, disability and religious discrimination. She also has experience litigating matters involving restrictive covenants, including non-competition agreements. Her representations have included numerous retail, manufacturing and service companies; hospitals and medical service providers; and commercial lending institutions. 

Kate Wendleton is a nationally recognized authority on career development & hiring. She founded The Five O’Clock Club in 1978 and developed its methodology to help job hunters, career changers and employees of all levels. 
Kate was a nationally syndicated columnist for eight years and a speaker on career development, having appeared on the Today Show, CNN, CNBC, Larry King, National Public Radio and CBS, and in The Economist, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune magazine, Business Week and other national media.  Kate also founded Workforce America, a not-for-profit Affiliate of The Five O’Clock Club, that served adults in Harlem who were not yet in the professional or managerial ranks. For ten years, Workforce America helped each person move into better-paying, higher-level positions as each improved in educational level and work experience.
    A former CFO of two small companies, she has twenty years of business-management experience in both manufacturing and service businesses. Kate founded, and directed for seven years, The Career Center at The New School for Social Research in New York. She also advises major corporations about employee career-development programs.  Kate is the author of The Five O’Clock Club’s five-part career-development and job-hunting series for professionals, managers and executives. She has kinldy donated 100 books to the first 100 women who enter the Conference doors.

 

Pavita Howe is Principal at Plan B Strategic Marketing in New Jersey. She works with startups and entrepreneurs to help them develop business plans, launch new products, and create marketing strategies at each stage of business. Her clients include technology startups, business-to-business, and consumer companies focused on launching new products, building brand awareness, attracting new customers, and growing their revenues. Pavita also serves as a Marketing Mentor for TechLaunch, New Jersey’s first technology accelerator program which is backed by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
Early in her career, Pavita served as Director of Marketing at Forte, a San Diego based software startup, where she was responsible for all aspects of marketing and new product launches for retail and Internet software products, including the Free AgentTM newsreader. She later launched the company’s flagship Internet contact center solutions with customers such as Dell Computer, Bank of America, and General Motors. She also helped the founders to formulate and present the company business plan to venture capitalists and investors in Silicon Valley, resulting in the sale of the company to Genesys. As Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Launches at Genesys, Pavita was responsible for corporate marketing plans and the New Product Launch Team for Genesys Contact Center Solutions. Genesys was later acquired by Alcatel.

Natalia (aka Ms. Oberti Noguera) is Founder and CEO of the Pipeline Fellowship, an angel investing bootcamp for women philanthropists.  The Pipeline Fellowship works to increase diversity in the U.S angel investing community and creates capital for women social entrepreneurs.  Natalia has been featured in Bloomberg Businessweek, Dowser, Forbes CSR Blog, ForbesWoman, Mashable, New Prosperity, Reuters Money, TechCrunch, and The New York Times.  Natalia was named to the Forbes list “Top 20 Women for Entrepreneurs to Follow on Twitter” and was selected as a Readers’ Pick for HuffPost Tech’s “27 Women in Tech You Need to Follow on Twitter."  Women's eNews recognized her as a 21 Leaders for the 21st Century for 2012. 




Jeremy Andrews
is the Founder and CEO of Smart Money Entrepreneurs. Jeremy has an extensive background in finance has worked with major institutional banks and hedgefunds including Tiger Management and Prudential Securities. Prior to founding Smart Money Entrepreneurs, he spent significant time consulting with entrepreneurs in the finance, fashion, entertainment industries. He was recruited to turn around a fledging a New York-based fashion venture in 2009, streamline operations, reduce expenses and improve cash flow.   Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the Zicklin School Of Business.








Teri Coaxum
is the SBA Regional Advocate for region II, covering the states of New Jersey and New York, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Coaxum is the chief counsel for advocacy’s direct link to small business owners, state and local government agencies, state legislators, trade associations, and small business organizations throughout the region. Coaxum was appointed to her post in January 2011.
Prior to her appointment, Coaxum was the deputy state director from 2004 to 2010 for Senator Charles Schumer (D–N.Y.); Coaxum advised the senator on issues ranging from economic development to job creation. The Office of Advocacy of the U.S. Small Business Administration is an independent voice for small business within the federal government.





Geri Stengel
writes about crowdfunding, social media, social responsibility, and success factors for high growth women entrepreneurs. Geri has blogged for Forbes, Huffington Post, Inc., American Express OPEN, Women 2.0, her own blog, Vistas among other places. She provides a road map to success, highlighting what works and what doesn’t, based on her experience as an entrepreneur, mentor, researcher, and marketer.  
   Her company, Ventureneer, gives small businesses and nonprofits a variety of practical, affordable resources to help them understand and overcome the challenges of entrepreneurship. As a writer, teacher and presenter, Geri has helped thousands of entrepreneurs take their vision to reality, develop their business plan, and learn the strategies and tactics they need to grow their businesses. Geri is a 2012 Small Business Influencer Champion and was recognized as one of the 15 top social media thought leaders by Regan a corporate communications publisher.

Kevin Harrington, Chairman and Founder of As Seen On TV, Inc. and a shark from the Shark Tank, Kevin is the Afternoon Key Note Speaker & will be in the Product Pitch Tank & the Sharkette Tank. 

Kevin Harrington is widely acknowledged as a pioneer and principal architect of the infomercial industry. In 1984, Kevin produced one of the industry's first 30-minute infomercials. Since then, he has been involved with over 500 product launches that resulted in sales of over $4 billion worldwide with 20 products that reached individual sales of over $100 million. Kevin founded Quantum International, Ltd. in the mid 1980s, which merged into National Media Corporation in 1991. Under his leadership as President, National Media reached $500 million in annual sales, distributing in over 100 countries and 20 languages. This company's success has been chronicled in a case study at Harvard/MIT for over a decade. Kevin was also CEO of several other entrepreneurial companies including HSN Direct, a joint venture with Home Shopping Network, in 1994 and Reliant International Media in 1997. Reliant International Media was sold in 2007.

Due to his extensive resume, Kevin was selected as an investor "Shark" on the ABC television series Shark Tank, produced by Mark Burnett. The show gives budding entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their products to a panel of acclaimed judges in hopes of turning their ideas into a successful business reality. He recently released a book entitled "Act Now: How I Turn Ideas into Million-Dollar Products" that chronicles his life and experiences in the DRTV industry.

Dawn Fitch is the founder of Pooka Pure and Simple, a handmade bath and body company.  After battling illness, she began exploring holistic therapies and aromatherapy. While reading the labels on many of her cosmetic products and becoming increasingly aware of the dangerous chemicals in them, she began making and selling her own products.  The response was tremendous, and Pooka was born!

Dawn enlisted the help of Donna Lynn, April Reeves-Mathis and Tricia Akinwand; together they formed Pooka Pure & Simple.  The company’s warehouse is in East Orange, NJ. and is currently being sold in Whole Food Markets, online and through other distributors.
 
Pooka has been featured on The Today Show, CBS Evening News, Essence Magazine, Black Enterprise Magazine, The Network Journal, Michael Baisden Radio and various media outlets.  Dawn was the recipient of the Influencer Award for Entrepreneurship given by the Urban League, the Black Executive Award given by the African American Chambers of Commerce, and an Agent of Change award from the National Council of Negro Women, and Pooka Pure and Simple was named a Local Hero by Whole Foods Markets.
 
In 2002, PookaGiveBack was created- A division of Pooka that focuses on donating products to worthy causes.  In 2011, Pooka opened its first Flagship Boutique in Orange, NJ!  In March 2012, Dawn was recognized for her social media skills and was blessed to be on the cover of Black Enterprise Magazine!

 

Collette Liantonio President, Concepts TV.  Collette launched Concepts TV in 1983. With an MA in Directing from New York University, Collette also attended Harvard University’s Owner/President Program. Collette is a licensed speech and dramatic arts coach and has experience in all aspects of public speaking and directing. Many of her direct response commercials and infomercials have become advertising legends, such as Ambervision Sunglasses, Topsy Tail, The Abdominizer, Contour Pillow and The George Foreman Grill. Elizabeth (Liz) Sigety, Partner, Fox Rothschild, focuses her practice on a wide variety of corporate work, with an emphasis on business and financial transactions, including franchising mergers & acquisitions, venture capital and angel financing, securities and private placements.  Liz also acts as a general counsel for numerous emerging and middle market businesses including franchise, life science, and technology companies. Alicia Syrett 
is the Founder and CEO of Pantegrion Capital, an angel investment vehicle focused on seed and early stage investments (www.pantegrion.com). She is a member of several angel networks including Golden Seeds, NY Angels, and the Angel Capital Association. She is a frequent speaker on panels for various startup organizations in New York City as well as for entrepreneurial programs at NYU and Columbia.
 
Prior to founding Pantegrion, Ms. Syrett was the Chief Administrative Officer and Managing Director of a multi-billion dollar private equity firm. As the first employee of the firm, she established numerous operational areas (payroll, insurance coverage, healthcare and retirement platforms, vendor services, etc.).  She also spearheaded the creation of the firm’s Intranet and external website. 
 
Ms. Syrett has spent over 10 years in the financial industry. Her previous roles included serving as the Chief Administrative Officer of a $20+ billion hedge fund, the Director of Recruiting for a multi-billion dollar hedge fund, an Associate at the executive recruiting firm Russell Reynolds, an Investment Analyst at a small hedge fund in Greenwich, and an Investment Banking Analyst in Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette’s Los Angeles office.

 

Aaron Sylvan has secured millions of dollars of investment for startup tech companies, by writing business plans and delivering presentations.   An entrepreneur since childhood, Aaron has been writing software and building software companies for over thirty years.  As CEO he has closed seven rounds of financing for two companies: One Technology™, based in Cambridge, MA, was an Operations Research company that developed artificial life algorithms to solve complex business problems for Fortune 500s; it ran from 1995-2002.  More recently, TrustWorks™ was a social networking startup, which Aaron ran from 2007-2010.
 
Over the past ten years, Aaron has worked with dozens of other startups to build out technology, operational strategy, branding, marketing, and pitches to investors.  He has also been hired as a technical due-diligence advisor to Venture Capital and Angel Investors. At present, Aaron runs a software development shop in New York City, called "Sylvan Social Technology™, which builds websites and mobile apps for small business.
 
He is also writing a book on entrepreneurship, called Lemonade Heroes™, which features portraits and stories of founders - across a range of industries, nationalities, and company sizes.  That book is in development as a TV Series, at http://LemonadeHeroes.tv.  Aaron has also served as a volunteer for the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (to at-risk urban youth), and been featured in many publications including Entrepreneur Magazine, Crain's New York Business, Business Insider, and Huffington Post.
